Surface-water hydrology relates the dynamics of flow in surface-water systems. This includes the field measurement of flow (discharge); the statistical variability at each setting; floods; drought susceptibility and the development of the levels of risk; and the fluid mechanics of surface waters. The flow pattern of the rivers is affected by many factors. Throughout the entire course, water layer will exert force on bank as well as bed. This will surely affect the stability of bank and bed. Study of river includes water quality also. If the water quality is not up to the standard limit specified by CPCB, it cannot be used for any purpose. As we know that each drop of water is precious, so a detailed study is essential in order to save the life of water body.
