Congratulations to Basil Saji (S2 CSE A), Albert M. Paul (S2 CSE A), Anugraha Siju (S4 EBE), and Abhinav Raj (S4 EBE) for securing Third Position and a cash prize of ₹70,000 in SIGN2SOUND, a prestigious global-level innovation competition organized by the IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) Kerala Chapter in partnership with the National Institute of Speech & Hearing (NISH) and IEEE DataPort.
The six-month competition, held from December 2025 to June 2026, comprised three online phases and concluded with the grand finale on 27 June 2026 at ICFOSS, Thiruvananthapuram. The challenge focused on developing AI- and machine learning-based systems capable of translating sign language into spoken audio in real time, helping bridge communication gaps for the deaf and hard-of-hearing community.
