Integrated Learning Platform

ERP software is used as a virtual platform to manage course delivery, track attendance, submit assignments, gather feedback, and assess student performance. It also helps in identifying areas for improvement and enables resource sharing.

Research and Innovation Engagement

Students are motivated to take up research-oriented projects in engineering that address industry requirements and promote community welfare. With faculty guidance, many have successfully published their work in reputed journals.

For example:

Industry Insight Sessions:

Guest lectures by experts from various industries and academic fields are regularly conducted, providing students with practical knowledge and bridging the gap between theory and real-world applications. Industry Insight Sessions provided students with valuable opportunities, leading to paid internships at Suyati under the guidance of faculty members Ms. Tenna, Mr. Nikhil, Ms. Divya, and Mr. Sumesh C. Raman. These sessions enhanced students' industry exposure and practical experience.

Student Involvement in Practical Consulting:

Students gain hands-on experience through industry  visits, laboratory work, and community interactions. They also apply their knowledge through course projects, lab sessions, and real-world problem-solving, enhancing their technical and analytical skills. Additionally, students have received  KTU CERD funding under the guidance of faculty members, further enriching their research and innovation experience.

Professional Skills Enhancement:

Students are actively encouraged to participate in seminars, workshops, and conferences to gain new insights and expand their professional networks. Faculty members provide hands-on training to enhance students' practical skills. In the CSE department, an in-house Data Science training program was conducted by CSE faculty for various other departments, benefiting 447 students.

Online Learning Opportunities:

Students are encouraged to enroll in MOOC and NPTEL courses to expand their subject-specific knowledge. They also engage with platforms like Infosys Springboard, earning certifications through video-proctored exams. Under the guidance of faculty members, students perform exceptionally well, further enhancing their skills and academic growth. Additionally, faculty members pursue specialized courses to advance their professional development.

Student-Centered Active Learning:

The flipped classroom model encourages students to explore and solve problems independently, while faculty act as guides, fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills. In the S2 2024 KTU scheme, the Digital 101 course follows a flipped classroom approach. Students engage with learning materials, such as videos and readings, before class, allowing in-class sessions to focus on discussions, problem-solving, and hands-on activities. This method enhances active learning and student participation.

Hands-On Project Learning:

Students engage in course projects, mini-projects, and design projects, enabling them to actively participate in the learning process and develop creative problem-solving and design thinking.

Collaborative Learning and Peer Interactions:

Group discussions and collaborative activities are promoted, enabling students to learn from each other and develop teamwork skills. Students are organized into different peer groups, with tutorials assigned accordingly, leading to excellent academic results.

Continuous Feedback and Evaluation:

Regular assessments, feedback sessions, and performance reviews help track student progress and ensure continuous improvement in the learning process. Through the ERP system, a structured evaluation approach is implemented, including teaching effectiveness surveys and confidence level feedback from each student based on the subject, ensuring a more effective learning experience.

Community Engagement and Social Responsibility:

Students are encouraged to participate in community service projects, offering them the chance to apply their learning for social good and develop a sense of responsibility.
