The Eco Vision Initiatives at Adi Shankara Institute of Engineering and Technology reflect our commitment to creating a sustainable and environmentally friendly campus. These initiatives encompass a range of projects aimed at reducing our ecological footprint, including banning single-use plastics, promoting recycling and composting, and implementing energy-efficient practices. Through EcoVision, we focus on integrating green technologies, conserving natural resources, and fostering a culture of environmental responsibility among students and staff. Our efforts also extend to enhancing biodiversity on campus with initiatives like the medicinal plant garden and vegetable garden, making sustainability a core aspect of campus life.
Restricted Entry of Automobiles

Entry of vehicles inside the campus is restricted. Campus has sufficient space for parking vehicles of staff and students. College is operating more than 15 buses to various places to limit the number of private vehicles and a barrier is fixed in front of the college main building to restrict the entry of vehicles.

Use of Bicycles/ Battery Powered Vehicles 

ASIET promotes the use of bicycles among students and faculty. A special parking space – “Cycle Haven” is provided in the campus for bicycle users. The Electrical and Electronics engineering department developed two battery operated electric vehicles and continues to research electric vehicle technology. 

Pedestrian Friendly Pathways

Pathways and roads inside the campus are well maintained. Pedestrians can walk safely through the pathways. Pedestrian pathways are available to all department blocks in the campus.

Plastic-Free

For environmental sustainability, ASIET tries to minimize the use of plastic in different ways. Awareness is created amongst the staff and the students to reduce the use of plastic. "Say No to Plastic" sign boards have been displayed at prominent places of the campus. NSS Unit is supplying steel glasses to supply tea in various functions to avoid plastic coated paper glass. Non-biodegradable wastes such as plastic generated inside the campus are handed over to the Haritha Kerala mission. Bottle collection booths and waste bins have been placed at various locations of the campus to collect waste.

Landscaping with Trees and Plants

The campus is well laid out with greenery. The green ambience of the Institution is largely due to trees which maintain the ecosystem. Buildings in the campus were constructed without cutting and disturbing the growth of towering trees available in the campus. Campus premises are well maintained with beautiful landscaping and appointed a gardener for the well maintainance of trees and plants inside the college premise. The green campus maintains an eco-friendly environment. Under the leadership of Bhoomitrasena club and NSS tree plantation programs are arranging every year.
