Adi Shankara Institute of Engineering and Technology is committed to “zero waste” and reducing the environmental impact of its activities through its philosophy of“reduce-reuse- recycle”. There are different types of wastes disposed in the college for which there is a proper system functioning. Adi Shankara Institute of Engineering and Technology is organizing various awareness programs, conducting tree plantations and various other activities. Apart from these activities, the importance of waste management and methods of waste disposal mechanism is taught to students through waste Management to achieve a healthy and conducive environment on our campus waste bins are placed through out the campus. The solid wastes are removed from the college in collaboration with Kalady grama panchayat and also with Hamara plastics. Hamara plastic will collect all the waste from the college used to recycle. Agreement is made between college and hamara plastic. Organic waste are used to make bio compost to use as fertilizer.

At Adi Shankara Institute of Engineering and Technology, waste management is taken seriously with the implementation of color-coded waste bins across the campus. Separate bins are designated for paper, plastic, and food waste, each marked by a distinct color. This system ensures the effective segregation of waste, making it easier to recycle materials and manage organic waste. By promoting responsible disposal habits, the institute reinforces its commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship among students and staff.
