As part of our commitment to renewable energy utilization, Adi Shankara Institute of Engineering and Technology has installed a 30 KWp on-grid solar power plant on the rooftop of the Central Computing Facility (CCF Block). This initiative aligns with our efforts to harness clean and sustainable energy sources, reducing our carbon footprint and promoting environmental stewardship on campus. The solar power plant not only contributes to our energy needs but also serves as a model for integrating renewable energy into institutional infrastructure, demonstrating our dedication to a greener future.

The on-grid solar power plant was installed on the rooftop of the Central Computing Facility (CCF Block) under the ANERT Solar Rooftop Scheme 2016-2017. The installation was completed and received Electrical Inspectorate Energisation Approval by October 2017. The grid-tied system, installed by ORB ENERGY Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore, features 96 Polycrystalline silicon Microsun panels, each with a capacity of 315 Wp. These panels are organized into six strings of 16 panels each, all connected to a DC Combiner Box before entering the inverter systems. The setup includes a 3-phase 30 KVA transformerless solar inverter by DELTA, with a peak efficiency of 98.5%. Adi Shankara Institute of Engineering and Technology has also signed an MoU with ORB ENERGY Pvt. Ltd., and the HT bidirectional (solar) meter, along with CT PT recommissioning by KSEB, was successfully completed on December 23, 2017.
