The Department of Electronics and Biomedical Engineering at Adi Shankara Institute of Engineering and Technology, in collaboration with EBSAA, NSS Units, and DATRI, successfully organized a Voluntary Blood Stem Cell Donor Registration Camp on Wednesday, the 12th, at the institute's auditorium. The event aimed to raise awareness about the life-saving potential of stem cell donation in treating over 80 life-threatening blood disorders, including blood cancer. Participants learned about the critical need for matching donors, given the only 25% chance of finding a match within a family. The registration process was simple, requiring a cheek swab sample, and thorough medical tests ensured donor safety. Open to individuals aged 18-50, the camp encouraged students and faculty to take a step toward saving lives. The initiative received a remarkable response, reinforcing the institution's commitment to social responsibility and medical advancements.
