Adi Shankara Institute of Engineering and Technology, Kalady, in association with the Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Intellectual Property Management (RGNIIPM), Government of India, successfully conducted a workshop on “IPR & Patent Strategies for Biomedical Device Design: Protecting Innovation Through Patents & Designs” on March 25, 2025. The event, organized under the National Intellectual Property Awareness Mission (NIPAM) by the Department of Electronics and Biomedical Engineering, featured Dr. Silpa PA, a Registered Indian Patent Agent and National Intellectual Property Awareness Mission Volunteer, as the keynote speaker. Dr. Silpa provided valuable insights into intellectual property rights and patent strategies essential for biomedical innovation. The session, held from 11:40 AM to 12:30 PM, witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty, enriching their understanding of patent protection in technological advancements. The event was convened by Dr. Remya George, Professor and Head of the Department of Electronics and Biomedical Engineering.
