Dr. Ramani Bai V

Professor & HOD

Dr. Ramani Bai V is a distinguished academic administrator and researcher with extensive experience in teaching, training, and system design, joined as a Professor in department of Computer Science and Engineering at ASIET on 1st July, 2024. She holds a Ph.D. in Information and Communication Engineering from Anna University, Chennai, 2012 and has accumulated over 23 years of teaching experience, along with notable tenures in system design and training. Previously, she served as a Professor and Head of Computer Science and Engineering Department and Vidya Centre for AI Research at Vidya Academy of Science and Technology in Thrissur, Kerala. Dr. Ramani has also held prominent roles at SAINTGITS College of Engineering, Kottayam as Head of Computer Science and Engineering Department and Chief Coordinator of SAINTGITS Industrial Research Centre.

Her research interests include Data Science and Analytics, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Large Language Models, and she is a certified trainer in AI and ML. Her contributions to these fields are significant, with numerous publications in reputable international journals and conferences. She has also been actively involved in organizing and participating in various international conferences, faculty development programs, and workshops, demonstrating her commitment to continuous learning and knowledge dissemination.

In addition to her academic pursuits, Dr. Ramani Bai has made substantial contributions to the broader scientific community. She has served as a reviewer for several international journals, chaired sessions at prestigious conferences, and acted as an examiner for Ph.D. theses at Anna University, Chennai. Her expertise has been recognized through various grants and awards, including the Best Paper Award at the Amrita ACM-W Celebration of Women in Computing in 2010.

As the Head of Vidya Centre for AI Research (VCAIR), Dr. Ramani Bai continued to push the boundaries of research and innovation in artificial intelligence and related fields. Her leadership in organizing international hackathons on Large Language Models and Machine Learning demonstrates her dedication to fostering a culture of innovation and practical application of cutting-edge technologies.

Dr. Ramani Bai's impact extends beyond the academic realm. She has been involved in social activities aimed at enhancing IT skills among rural school students and underprivileged individuals. Her role as the Institution Authorized Signatory and Faculty Point of Contact for the I-YwD (Innovation by Youth with Disabilities) project showcases her commitment to inclusive education and technology accessibility. Her blend of academic excellence, research prowess, and commitment to social responsibility makes her a distinguished figure in her field, poised to continue making significant impacts in the realms of technology and education.
