Assistant Professor

Dr. Jayanthi K. R. is an accomplished Assistant Professor of Chemistry with a specialization in Organic Medicinal Chemistry. She currently teaches at Adi Sankara College of Engineering & Technology, Kalady, and has over 20 years of experience teaching Chemistry, Sustainable Engineering, and Environmental Sciences in various institutions in India and abroad. Previously, she served as an Assistant Professor in Engineering Chemistry at IES College of Engineering from 2012 to 2021 and worked as a Chemical Quality Control Analyst at Victory Aqua Farm in Kollam and Chennai. Dr. Jayanthi has published several papers on organic chemistry, delivered invited lectures on Organic and Medicinal Chemistry across various institutions, and is actively involved in coaching students for medical and engineering entrance exams. She has attended over 20 Faculty Development Programs and webinars and presented papers at national and international conferences, earning the Best Paper Award at a National Conference for her research on drug discovery from medicinal and aromatic plants. Her research interests include organic medicinal chemistry, with ongoing studies focused on the anti-cancer activity of certain organic molecules, drug discovery studies on Corona virus Protease Inhibitors, and drug analysis on various cancer cells.
