Dr. Sarika S
Professor & HoD

Dr. Sarika S is a Professor in the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science since June 2024. She earned her Ph.D. in 2019, completed her M.Tech from Karunya University in 2008, and B.Tech from Mahatma Gandhi University in 2005. She has also qualified the UGC NET examination. With 19 years of academic experience, Dr. Sarika has made significant contributions to emerging technologies, particularly at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security. She has published more than 30 research papers in reputed international journals indexed in SCI, Scopus, and UGC CARE. Her research primarily focuses on AI-driven security systems, intelligent threat detection, secure networks, and machine learning applications in cyber security. She is also an active reviewer for leading journals, including those published by IEEE, and has also served as the Chief Editor of Peer Reviewed Journals and Scopus-indexed books.

She has delivered expert talks as a resource person in more than 40 international, national, and state-level workshops and seminars, addressing topics such as Artificial Intelligence, AI in Cyber Security, Cloud Computing, Document Preparation using LaTeX, Emerging trends in Computer Science, and career opportunities in technology. She has also served as Chief Guest, Keynote Speaker, and Session Chair at several international conferences sponsored by IEEE and other professional bodies.

Dr. Sarika is an approved research supervisor at the Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Karnataka. She has authored four books and five book chapters, contributing to academic literature in computing and emerging technologies. Organized several events in administrative and department level including national and International conferences. Her efforts have received best faculty award from previous institution.

She has participated in various hands-on training, workshops, seminars, conferences, and Faculty Development Programs. Her current academic focus is on developing intelligent AI-based security frameworks, advancing cyber defense systems, and promoting AI literacy among students and researchers, aligning with the growing global need for secure and trustworthy AI systems.The research interests include Security, Agent Based Computing, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
