Pranav S Pillai is a dedicated Lab Instructor with a Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering. In addition, he holds specialized diplomas in ELV Systems and in AI & Robotics, which have strengthened his expertise in smart automation and emerging technologies.
With a keen interest in robotics, IoT, embedded systems, and AI-based solutions, Pranav actively explores and develops real-time systems aimed at addressing real-world challenges. His projects range from autonomous vehicles to intelligent personal assistants designed to improve everyday life.
Pranav also gained valuable industrial exposure during his one-year apprenticeship at NTPC (National Thermal Power Corporation), where he acquired practical skills and insights into large-scale engineering operations.
Driven by innovation and continuous learning, he remains committed to integrating emerging technologies into academic labs and inspiring students to engage in hands-on, project-based learning.
Apprenticeship at NTPC
Completed a one-year apprenticeship at NTPC (National Thermal Power Corporation), gaining practical experience in large-scale industrial systems, control panels, and maintenance operations.
Lab Instructor
Currently serving as a Lab Instructor, mentoring students in embedded systems, robotics, IoT, and hands-on electronics projects.
Diploma in ELV Systems
Acquired expertise in Extra Low Voltage systems, including CCTV, fire alarms, access control, and structured cabling.
Diploma in AI and Robotics
Enhanced skills in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and robotics system integration.
AADS – Automatic Accident Detection System
Developed a smart accident detection system using Arduino, GPS, and IoT to automatically alert nearby ambulances with real-time location updates.
ROS 2 Autonomous RC Car
Built a simulated and physical ROS 2-based autonomous RC car equipped with ultrasonic sensors for obstacle detection and live environment mapping.
Braccio Robotic Arm with MoveIt 2
Implemented real-time motion planning and control for the Tinkerkit Braccio robotic arm using STL mesh-based URDF models and MoveIt 2.
Jarvis Voice Assistant
Designed a personal, voice-controlled assistant capable of operating smart devices, tracking family members, and responding to voice commands—built on Raspberry Pi.
Mini Walking Robot
Created a small bipedal walking robot using servo motors, demonstrating principles of balance and movement.
AI Stock Trading Bot (In Progress)
Currently developing an AI-powered bot for intraday stock trading, focusing on real-time analysis and predictive modeling.
APM – Automatic Printing Machine (Prototype)
Building a smart printing system with features like document scanning, file uploads, touch interface, and integrated payment options.
ESP32 Micro-ROS Projects
Working on connected, real-time embedded robotic systems using ESP32 microcontrollers and micro-ROS for efficient automation.
